heavy soft plastics Jew setup help :)

G'day guys, figured i'd put out the feelers on what people suggest as a good jewie / heavy plastic setup. Put some money into my bream gear now its time to move through the stable upgrading as i go
And by upgrading...what i have now as my heavy plastics setup is a 3-5kg sonic pro and a 2500 sienna. I'ts a workhorse but not giving the finesse i want. So in the 3-5kg or 4-7kg range about 6'6-7ft and pretty crisp as it needs to be able to cast out and rip back 3/8th heads with 100-130mm placcies. Not looking top of the line, but within the 150-300 range is probably where i'm at, possibly pairing it with a new 3000 or 2500 sol or caldia (my first Daiwa, you guys have given me the motivation to give a non-shimano a go).
Cheers guys. Open to any and all suggestions

I have a nitro voodoo that I could get to you for about $240. Beast of a rod with one hell of a warranty

This!! ^^^

Ross certainly looks after his gear! And this rod would be perfect!

Chuck a 3000 Caldia or a JDM Luvias (If you can stretch go the luvias!!) on it and it would handle everything!

Id suggest a 2508 or 2500 sized reel. No need for anything heavier than that and u certainly wont need the line cap (although im assuming you are not land based). Those silver caldias look nice. Pairing one with ross' nitro would be a goer. JEEEWWWSS!

That sounds pretty excellent, i've got the nitro ultralight spin finesse for my breaming and they are great rods. Not to mention that ripper replacement warranty! Not flush for cash just yet, but i'll keep it in mind if you've still got it when finance permits!

It will be used out of a yak, but also landbased. The setup will also probably double for spinning metals etc. So there will be some long casting and landbased work in there, new to daiwas so all their numbering confuses the s&%t out of me, but a 2500 or 3000 was about right, the 2508 is the shallower spool variety correct?

Yep, 2508 has the same body and drag as a 2500 but a shallower spool. I dont know anything about slug casting but for jewing thats what id get. In fact I just upgraded my 2500 certate to a 2508 emeraldas collossal for jewing. The certate has done a great job for 4 years and is still going strong but aint as smooth as it was a thousand fish ago. Im thinking about selling it to be honest if your in Melb and want a look?

Bretto is right about the 2510PE-H. Line capacity sits right between a 2500 (more line than you need) and a 2508 (a bit shallow if you want to use it landbased I think). Import Luvias is also best bang for buck around in the Daiwa stable.

For the rod consider importing a major craft skyroad 6'6" 6-14lb. Perfect size, quality bits and crisp action. About $210 delivered. Would be sweet with the Luvias! I have one and run it with a Branzino 2510 or Certate 2500 depending on the day....

Fair call. Ive not Landbased for jews but id imagine a juggernaught has the potential to take a lot of line.

Thanks mate I'll definitely check them out! You and Pete have spent a few hours doing what I'll be doing so thats a tick in the right box. Looks like it's gonna be a bit of research. Love the nitro rods but for 150 posted who can complain. Any particular site you use? Gotta track down a luvias too it seems. Digi doesn't have the one I want

Japan Angler but they're out of stock it seems. Maybe email them and ask when the next shipment is due? I bought my Branzino there and was very happy with the service (3 days from Japan!).
