New Australian bream record

Seen on FB last week that there's a new Australian record for length only, 53cm bream caught in south Australia

53cm total length? Definitely beat-able The chief topped that earlier this month with the horse on the CX35... Might have to go have a crack at that one!

Length record is tip length and you have to be a member of ANSA club to get your catch recognised. Yellow fin bream record sits at only 44 cm.

Of course there are larger fish than that. It just said you have to be a member of the ansa club to have your catches recognized. That to me means its just an ansa record and not an Australian record.

Yet no credit taken away from that is a cracking bream one that only comes around once every now and then. I'm still waiting

Very nice fish, someone find that length to weight algorithm they use over east (in reverse ) and tell me how long these two might have been....

That's a very large yellowfin. Yellowfin are taller yet not as long as black bream. Black bream are long and skinny

It says on the NSW primary industries aquaculture chart 2.9kg equates to 49cm to the fork and 3.4kg equates to 52cm.

Cheers
