Daiwa Aird 2000
Hi guy's, Thinking of purchasing a Daiwa Airds 2000 when I make my first visit to Aus in May, I don't want to spend a fortune on a reel as it will be a spare. I will be bringing a Daiwa Freams 2000 with a spare spool. Just wondering if any of you guy's are using this reel and what are your thoughts.

They "do the job" but they aren't to far behind a freams.
I'd refer to it as a 12month reel because after one season they won't be as fresh as a new one. |

I have one ... i bought it for a kayak reel...its way past one year old and still smooth... i fitted an RCS Small handle knob and its a sweet reel.... only problem i found was the following :
there are 2 bearings under the standard spool... to fit the spare spool you must change the bearings over to the spare spool... however - the bearing recess in the spare spool was not as deep as the standard spool so when i had the spare spool fitted to the reel i found the spool was too high and causing terrible line lay... removing one bearing then had the spool way too low so i ended up only using the standard main spool... those bearings fall out easy too so be carefull if you ever remove the spool.... i would take an Aird over a Freams anyday... |
