Best time/tides- canning river
gday all, haven't been on for ages, mostly because i haven't done much bream fishing. After recent trip to Walpole tho (will try to get a little report up soon) i've got the bug back. Have recently moved to Canning Vale and tried a few spots on Canning river with no luck. At one spot I can see plenty of bream (ok, it might be a yacht club) but they just wont take anything.
Just wondering what peoples opinions on best times/tides are, and maybe some pointers on areas to try. cheers. |

I'd be fishing early morning/late arvo with a coinciding rising tide mate.

yeh, those conditions not happening for about a week or so. Been to a spot with heaps of bream (ok, its a yacht club) but they just aren't interested in anything. Muchos frustrating watching them just hang around.

Right place right time,
Dont worry about focusing all your efforts on early mornings or late afternoons. Its all about when the tide starts to push through. It is the only real pattern i have came across from my time on the water in Perth. If you can fish a high current area (pressure points, flats, skinnier sections of the river) you will find the fish actually wanting to feed in these areas bairfish a flowing through. I find the best moments are the first push of the rising tide and the very start of the outgoing. We used this to our advantage our Classic win up the canning, fish are always in these areas, but will only feed when its unsuitable for their prey. Also we used the ski boat wake to our advantage also. Seems to really fire them up when the water is discoloured on the shoreline. Looking forward to seeing some pics of your fish!
