Best insect repellant for flies?

I have noticed that flies this summer seem to be less repelled by the products I have been using, namely Rid and Aeroguard. Even after applying a thick coating of these sprays the little buggers just land all over my face and take no notice of the repellent.

What sprays do people find most effective for keeping the flies off?

Thanks, Goody

Buff/sunnies/hat to keep them away from your face and long sleeve everything if possible.

I hate the little buggers too!

Bushmans is about the strongest there is but still need reapplication hourly.
Aeroguard Tropical strength reapplication every 15 mins.
Rid just doesn't work (I think the makers of Rid are actually having a laugh cos its just as effective and an attractant)

guys i have been eaten alive by insects all the time until i found Red Eye Gotcha.Very very effective. To tell you the truth i havent tried Bushmans but i have fouind this to be excellent.Comes in Roll on pump and spray. The best thisng to do is cover up as much skin as possible and i also use Bisley Fishing shirt which contains a insect repellent that will wash out after 100 washes or so.
This is my trick.
BTW i have nothing to do with these companies they just work.
PS someone told me to increase your intake of Vegimite somthing to do with the Vitamin B in it that they dont like.I donmt know if it works but who doesnt love Vegimite.

Can vouch for the vitamin B. Cant vouch for its effectiveness against flies, but certainly works on mosies. I vitamin B tablet a day and you are set. Only side affect is the colour of your Pee if that sorta thing worries you at all

Nothing to do with the vitamin B in that case, they probably just cant stand the taste of it either. Coopers on the other hand is packed with yeast and my regular 'cloudy' beer consumption seems to make mozzies less annoying for me.

The flies in Melbourne are so bad right now, I'll try the bushmans.

Cheers,

Bashmans is the best Ive found but you cant beat the old fly swatter, they don't come back when you give that to em. :P

The Vitamin b is good for midgies also like sandflies etc they might still bight but the effect is normally a lot less.
