Samaki Zing XTreme - any feedback?

Hello,

I finally took the plunge and signed up to a forum, so here is my first post.

I was hoping to get some feedback on the Samaki Zing XTreme rod range I am specifically interested in the 2 piece 4-8lb and the 6-12lb rod.

How does the rod feel? Is the higher rated rod more suited to snapper fishing? Anybody use these for specific applications? What size reel would balance these rods?

Thanks in advance

Hey nereus hey bamm,

Thanks for getting back to me. I am currently living in Auckland, I am looking for a quality rod for catching snapper and salmon here. The reason I choose this forum to get my answers, is I know you guys like your quality tackle and are probably more qualified then most of the forums this end. That and my next trip is going to be taz chasing some bream.

I like to fish light, but was wondering ( generally ) if the 4-8 would be too light from some bodies experience holding/using the rods I mention.

Is the Samaki c12 gen 2 worth the extra cash?

Thanks again

I use c12s gen 2 nice rods

I use 6-12lb for snapper (bay )and 10-20lb for my heavy stick for Jews bigger snapper

I use 4-8lb for structure for bream

Hope this helps

2-6lb for weed beds and flats

And personally I think there a much better blank in c12 gen 2

That's my opinion

there are significant differences between the 1pce and 2 pce but i bought the 1 pce 4-8 and it will pull any bream backwards ,thats the reaason i bought it to pull big bream from structure,if i happen to hook 80cm Jew as bycatch it will not be undergunned in normal circumstances.
I originally bought the 6-12 and it was way too heavy for bream but if you couldn't pull bay snapper/jew on it all day you cant fish
I didn't pick the 10-20 but if i was you i'd give it i look these rods are pretty gutsy for their rating.
cheers nereus
