It's one of the many knots I've tested, and I found it to be considerably weaker than the original slim beauty. The point of wrapping a slim beauty (as opposed to tying a uni) is that when tension is put on your braid it tightens the grip of the wraps, squeezing your leader in a similar fashion to what an FG does, which in turn takes tension off the knot made in your leader, as the actual knot in the mono/fluro is what lets most other knots down.

thats not actually a slim beauty its called a Kaneit and I have some problems with them before I never use it anymore
I only use the improved Slim beauty and I have 100% confidence in this knot a perfect vid showing how to tie it: http://vimeo.com/48235610

There was something on here ages ago you can put the braid through the double overhand knot loop and then back through again, then you tighten the double overhand and it will do it for you, clear as mud

Just do an extra overhand i.e. x 3. The kaneit is a great knot but as with all knots attention to detail is everything. If you stick with the principal that the tag end always comes out of the hole you wont go wrong. (old timers will remember the 'rabbit always comes out of the hole' theory of knot tying

Here you go. Pink is the leader and feed green main line through as shown.
Close the main line knot and it done. That easy.

this is the way I start the slim beauty as well best thing ever! no need to thread through the figure 8. I have also found by doubling the braid over it becomes a much stronger knot.

And if you like the improved version, it makes it even easier to feed the tag through after the wraps.

I'm all about efficiency the less steps = quicker and also less chance tO make a mistake. so I personally haven't found the need for the extra loop. the big diff for me was to do me the braid over. Use to break off at the leader knot most time now I get me leader back most of the time.

Just trying to clarify - so with this one you actually do the wraps with the leader (green) and not the braid (pink)? cheers Paul

I'm a bit confused, I thought the overhand knot was in the leader
