Stradic wont sing

The spring loaded metal flapper, that makes the drag sing, in my 1997 Stradic 2000FE has busted. The spring is fine but the flapper has snapped.

Has anyone had experience replacing this part. I've looked through the manual and this part isnt mentioned. Does anyone know what its called and how to fix it. Its located inside the spool at the top.

There's nothing else wrong with the reel but I'm really missing that sweet sound

Excellent suggestion - I'm still interested in fixing the old one but that takes the urgency out of the situation.

Now Ive just got to rememeber where i left the spare spool. Haven't used it in months.
