Age And Size Chart For Bream!

Hey all, thought I would post up this interesting chart of bream sizes and age.
It's quite interesting and gives a little food for thought in why these magnificent little sport fish are treated with such respect and why catch and release fishing is so highly valued!

It's a fair guide I rekon but obviously it can vary. I think the first few years can really affect how quickly they grow. I wonder how old they are at 45 fork? There's a massive overall size difference between 40 and 45.

There was a 44.5 fork fish from your local water Netted by AMC a few years back which was estimated to be 24 years old.

The fish in north of tas are generally "younger" than their Eastern counterparts of the same size.

Maybe there's a difference between Yellowfin and Blacks? Blacks maybe slower growing?

I'd say that is probably due to amount of fish in those systems. Not as much competition for food! There's so much food compared to other systems to start with to.
