Emma as a plastics reel.

Hey all I have a 2508 colossal. They are sold as an egi reel but was wondering
If they will stand up to sp work on snapper. Are the internals the same as a non egi reel. Feedback is much appreciated. Cheers

a perfect snapper reel, super tough with hyper digigear and a great drag

The emeraldas colossal reel is stronger then many of the certate
reels it has hyper gearing in it so it will fish for snapper with out no problems.

Thumbs up

Lol. I have had it for about 1 1/2 yes and have only used it for squiding. So maybe I hav been a bit gentle on it. Thanks for the feed back guys. I have had my trusty old sol for ages and have been toying with the idea of a second heavier sp reel bun no need now.

the egi reels are made tougher than normal reel because of the violent jerking action used in the EGI technique

Good to know. I had herd things like the gearing was not as tough so I kept it strictly squid. Thanks agen for the right info. Can't wait to hear the drag singing. I love the sound of the drag on the Emma and Tate's.

It will destroy snapper. The 5.2 gear ratio is designed to crank heavy dead weight ie squid and the hyper gears are tough as they get.
