Question on servicing reels

Thinking about actually learning to do minor servicing on a couple of reels I own. Opened up a few reels down to the anti-reverse mechanism before but not beyond that. What are some easily obtainable products (grease/oil) that can be bought?

I service all my own reels, had a warranty claim recently and thought I'd try a "pro service", it came back in worse shape than I sent it.

Rule of thumb, if you want something done right do it yourself.

Once you undo your anti reverse it slips off, pinion gear comes out then you separate the body.

The only things you have to worry about are springs in the bail arm, have to open them slowly, besides that take photos or have some schematics handy to help you along.

Thanks Manno!

I would say go to the comprehensive reel servicing post that's already up - problem is if we post up too many forums with the same info.

Otherwise pm me and I'll message back.
