Hows this as a bream boat?

Hi guys,

I am still dreaming about owning my first boat - will be secondhand. I just wonder if you guys know about these (1) Glastron 173cc (2) Sea Fox 172cc ?

Both of these sit higher than those racy breamboat, and I am thinking to put electric motor, livewell, and others goodies. It will be used in breaming competition, but when it is not, it will hang around Port Philip Bay for other targets.

They are around $15,000 to $20,000 on boatsales. Seems like good value, I guess they will be imported.

Will they work in both conditions? Or will I be compromising too much in the comp?

Looking forward to any input.

Cheers,

Chesney

Also I found it shocking that some of the second hand boat asking price is extremely high. A 10 year boat price is actually higher than a brand new one. True you have add on or better engine but still. How much discount will you ask for? A mate says 50% to start with

as I said. im no expert and have no industry experience but the sea fox looks ok, but the Glastron comes with a toilet so could be handy. there is a few guys that fish tournaments in boats like that in WA and seem to get around just fine.

When its this rough in the Yarra you wont want to be out the front - but this is the main reason bass boats suck in the bay.

If the wind gets up - you are going to get wet.

Bass boats care quite capable of handling some uncomfortable conditions but they do it in an uncomfortable manner

Haha just to say the glastron does not have toilet. It is the livewell. I think if you do the number 1 in there it still can handle, number 2 will bring serious consequences

I used to get soaked in my 4.40 Quinny Tinny as well as a kidney pounding compared to a virtually dry, soft comphy run in the same sought of conditions in my bass boat on our system.

Nearly every first boat is the wrong boat,we all seem to go thru that phase at a expensive cost.Spending time on other peoples boats will help finding the right boat.
