new boat options around 20k

hi guys im looking for a new boat i will probably finance a fair chunk of it so new will be the best option.

i live inland a do a bit of trout and cod fishing but would also look at heading over toward merimbula and the coast a couple of times a year.

whats the best options budget will be around $20,000 and would like something around 4.4m, 4 stroke and side console.

thanks

i was originally thinking a stacer proline or quintrex explorer but im now leaning toward the outlaw or renegade would like a 4.5m boat and 60hp but think i will have to settle for a 4.3 and a 40 or 50.

does any one have experience with these boats or something better value?

There is a TABS 440 Razorback with a 40hp Honda on boatsales for $20k. Would be an excellent boat. Otherwise a TABS 420 Bullshark would be good option.

Top boats the renegades, you won't be disappointed if you get one.
I've had my 420 for around 10 months, would have 200 + hours on it now and I can't fault it...

Bluefin Wildcat, use mine on the trout, bream, natives and go in the bay and even offshore when conditions are ok.
looked at the renegade not a lot of ribs.

Priced with or without extras ie sounder and electric?

I found the outlaw came out alot cheaper than the renegade for a very similar boat!

Cheers

Dave3707, I couldn't tell you how one would go in those areas as they are not familiar to me.
I mostly use mine in Moreton Bay between Redcliffe and Moreton island, this is the largest open expanse of water in the bay and can get pretty rough and the renegade handles it well and doesn't bang around much either, would be the driest tinny/open boat I've fished out of. Big boat in a small boats body.....
Juzza, have to agree that a few extra ribs wouldn't go astray in the renegade but they are solid none the less.
Love the wildcats they are solid and have a great deck layout, have fished out of a mates in the same areas we fish out of mine, they are a very capable boat but the ride doesn't compare to the renegades, also you tend to get much wetter in the wildcat...

Dave I'm living there and without owning a renegage I can tell you many very small boats head out almost daily at Merimbula as the main bay is fairly sheltered, the bar is tame too 90% of the time.
I used to take my tiller steer 400 hornet trophy which have an extremely high floor and decks out on good mornings around the headlands no probs so can only assume the 420 renegade will do it too and even better.
I have my heart set on a 490 with a 70 yammer in 6-12 months time. I reckon if they are as good as the top ender which all reports suggest they are they are excellent value.
Cheers matt

May be worthwhile considering a polycraft - tough, relatively cheap and easy to modify.

thanks guys

wont be for a little bit i got a price on a 420 renegade side console and merc 40 hp 4 stroke upgraded trailer and a thrust plate and sounder and it came in right on 20k i may even look at the 50 hp for another $1000 the 440 with a 50hp sent the price up around $4500

mabey i will look at a 2 stroke to furthur cut costs

as i said i want the boat for trout and cod fishing in dams and a trip over to the coast or Sydney harbor a few times a year

thanks again
