OBSA610L Omen Black what's the verdict?

Had a look at one of these last week at my local tackle shop. I need a new light stick for the next tourney season and also for my day to day estuary fishing. Currently using a Nitro Ultrabream Finesse paired with a Shimano Stradic Ci4 which i love. This combo suits me really well, but I was pretty impressed with the omen black at that price point. Anyone using these and what do they think of them. Chasing all the usual estuary suspects.

Mate shoot a pm to dolivedunk, dowelly or gtxrally. These guys are developing and testing these rods and no doubt can give you some insight. Seen these in the flesh too, I agree very much they look a good bit of gear for the price and would work well on the yak. Also check their site for warranty options, as you know better than anyone, yak fishing can get extreme lol. Hope this helps mate.

Hi Yack,
Are you sure you were looking at the OBSA610L and not the OBS610ML?
I dont think the Australian bream models have hit the shelves yet.

I was able to do some testing with this rod when we were finalising the specs and we are very happy with it. The rod still has a good amount of grunt down low but very sensitive in the tip and loads up nicely, you can cast small lures a good distance.
See Tom's report here http://13fishing.com.au/omen-bream-rods-part-2

Or the I have just written an article on the OBS610ML and you can see it here http://13fishing.com.au/obs610ml-bre...eavy-structure

They certainly are great value for money, but the Australian versions have had fair amount of local development so you guys can get the most out of your gear.

I think you should see the new models in stores late this month or early September.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
Thanks Dale.

Yep, that's the one. I missed the M! Great read btw, have already had a look at it. Should I wait for new models? Who's best to buy and ship to Northern Rivers NSW?

Definitely wait for the new model so that you can compare, i think you will be happy with it, but if you did want something a little more versatile for bigger fish then the ML is perfect. Not sure on the stores just check the store finder, i am from Melbourne so can't help you there.

Mate Anglers Warehouse will be stocking the rest of the range when they are released later in the month. Might be worth popping in there and having a chat to Graham and the boys.

Also for my 2 bobs worth, I would wait for the Aus model that the guys have been developing. Seems like it could suit your needs a bit better.
