Just out of curiosity have you looked at the Olympus TG2?
I am in the market for a new waterproof camera and after evaluating the Lumix and the Olympus, I decided to go with the Olympus. I know price is a wise it is more expensive, but it is better in low light situations and response time much faster then the Lumix. Have to admit though it was a close call, but the 1cm macro on the Olympus won me over compared to the 5cm on the Lumix. |

Having had both the Pentax and Panasonic, I settled for the Olympus TG series. Better low light ability and generally better images.

Had a panasonic, yep as said above. I now have a Nikon AW110 and it is alot better than my panasonic, has alot more features and its auto mode is spot on making it very user friendly, adjust to suit every situation without fail.

Ive just been looking into underwater cameras atm too.
Not too sure what your budget is but another option that might be worth considering is the Olympus EPM-1 with the underwater housing. You can pick them up online for a little over $600.00. Gives you DSLR quality and the option of upgrading to different lenses in the future. From all the reviews i read they seemed to get a pretty good write up. I just purchased one and are waiting for it to arrive, ill let you know how it goes.
