Well done to Wade and Macca for bringing home the bacon with a great looking bag of breams. Congrats also to the place getters in team duo/13 who were only grams away from taking the event out and Tt/zman who are never far from the top.
Craig as always you pulled together an awesome event in some less than desirable weather. Thanks again for giving us all such a great competition to take part in.
I can't finish up without mentioning Toms big bruiser, when I saw him strutting up to the flow rite hold tank I thought he had a full bag .. It wasn't till I looked inside and saw it was just one horse taking up all the spacewell done mate.

Cheers to everyone else aswell, bring on the the final!!

Dion

Hey Nimbin all the photos will be in the WAFM magazine when it comes out, current one has a 1.60 kg in it and before that Ian Sewell picked up a 1.67kg in the kayaks ,i am waiting for someone to break the 1.80 mark, maybe next year ?

Respect to Wade and George for the win , these old school tournaments anglers are always a danger of popping up and getting a win, work commitments keep us safe from them a lot of the time.

Callum and Susie a solid performance once again,Mr consistents Ash and Ben solid performance as usual in 3rd,,good work Team Dljiba and Just fishings Simon And Sandy at 5th.

After a pleaseing performance last time we decided to check out the town canals again,,after watching Charlie fight a fish on his first cast till we were out of view (and he was still fighting it)i was convinced he had big bream by 7.15am,turns out it was a monster skippy, we caught our first at 7.20 am then pulled the hooks on a couple bigguns,a stonker skippy that fought harder than any bream i have ever caught had me wondering for about 6-7 minutes, but most of the day was shut down.

By 10.30 am it was time to decide whether to run across the estury to the rivers but with some big gun boats heading back to the canals it was decided maybe it was not happening and we stuck it out,,the water was gin clear apart from the last hour where we headed to another part of the canals which was more dirtier,we threw everything at the bream and it was a case of what can we do now but we run out of answers.

Well done to Craig,Halco and other sponsors and good luck to everyone that quailfied for Grand Final and not forgetting the kayak Grand final next week(Sunday) at Garvey Park, come down at 2pm and see some monsters getting weighin.

Oh and special mention to Jaydon from Madeyes assisting with the weighin and handing out his new RST soft plastics which played a part in the tournament win (along with ZMANS.)

congrats to George and Wade. it was a typical slow witer day in mandurah so good to see some teams still found fish. any one that got a bag was doing well. great effort for dowlly and team TT with Ash and Ben. you guys are looking like a very consistant team heading into the grand final. also thanks to Craig and Halco for another top event.

Thanks guys,
was defiantly a slow day with only 7 Bream caught for the comp, however 6 were legals and we had two solid upgrades within the final hour.
We caught fish on zman grubs primarily in a number of different colours, pretty much just spending short amounts of times on each colour to see if we could crack a pattern.
I did upgrade at the death on a gulp 3" minnow in chartruse on a 1/12th jig head fishing the 10ft range. previously had 5 casts into the same location and then he decided to bite!
Suzie caught a solid 950gram fish hard up against a bank sheltered from the gushing current, this was the only fish we managed hard up on the banks, mostly around the 6ft area.
Suzie has defiantly taken the comp hoodoo mindset away from me, just treating every comp like a social day out on the water now and its paying off with two consecutive top 10's.

Forgot to mention my partner saw a 40+ bream come up next to the boat from the deep and slurped a prawn from the surface

I guess it would be impolite to mentioned a bit of entertainment as one of the boats went floating off down the canal while one of the lads decided to head for the bar at the weighin, lucky a ttlures/zman boat made a speedy recovery of the Cranka boat

Yep cheers Ash for the rescue... seems the boat was still keen to fish... interrupted my hamburger though.

Another well run tournament... It was great to see the weather take a good turn after the poor days leading up to it and the run of wet and windy Mandurah comps we've had.

Great to see Halco getting involved again, being one of the original bream lure creators.

Well done to Wade and George on the win, well deserved! We thought you guys looked a little too happy when we passed each other.

Congrats Dowelly and Suzie. A good turnaround after the last comp shenanigans. Great result and you're in the finals.

We were stoked with our third place. Thought the day was going to go well when the first cast was a mid 30 forker! If only Ben's big tailor was a bream, we might have won

Have to mention Nigel & Stephen (What does Djilba mean?) as well as Simon & Sandy for finishing in the top 5 with solid bags. The top 5 were not far apart!

Looking forward to the final now!

Cheers,

thanks for the kind words guys.
so stoked to finally get a win in the classics, we weren't expecting much going into the weigh in just hoping for a top 5 finish to get us in the grand final. I enjoyed throwing Jadon's new uv coloured paddle prawns, I think they made all the difference in the dirty water, though the ever reliable Z-mans weren't far behind, just wish I had managed to coax the other horse I hooked out of his jetty as he fought twice as hard as the 1.1kg bream I got.
big thanks to Craig for once again a terrific run tournament, well done to the other place getters and a big thanks to Simon and Sandy of JUSTFISHIN EQUIPMENT for looking after me with all my Ecooda and Samaki Tackle. Catch you all at the Grand Final
