The old electric comps were ideal for that style of boat.

Yep the old bream electrics were cracker days on the water. Great fun and a good way to transition into Bream Classics and ABT Qualifiers. And the freshwater events were great too as everyone just used their electric boats (super punts)

Heres a link to some stuff we used to do a few years back. All it needs is someone to run it like it used to be. Just be warned its not as easy as posting up for people to come along and fish. There are legal/insurance matters to deal with for running it plus lots of organising- especially for one person.

Tossed and turned so many times about whether to get a comp going.
I really like the idea of leccys only or 5knot limit to make it fair for all.

Finding a way to keep it "fun" for all but still making it a comp seems nearly impossible though.

Electric only is where its at I reckon. You can still have all the normal boats enter, but while they are usually advantaged by large outboards to get to spots first, they are usually disadvantaged as a 3m punt with an 80lb leccy goes heaps quicker. Totally levels the playing field out.

Guys Bear did alot of work in planning and running these things so if you really want to see them back, you are already a good way into getting it going. Stand up and lend a hand if you want it. I cant commit any time to help get it up and running but dang I now wish I never sold my super punt!
