4lb club reel

Hey guys joined a club recently which exclusively only fish 4lb line for fun in my area as I've started to get serious about it I'm going to buy a reel dedicated to this the fish we mostly encounter in my area are barra salmon and jacks.
What reel in a 1000-2500 size would use suggest to be up to this and why? Cheers guys

Without knowing your budget, I would suggest a Stradic 2500.
Those things are tough as nails and likely to handle the sort of fish you're chasing as good as any other.

I'd say any 2506 daiwa reel. Caldia, exist etc

I fish 3-4lb only down here in TAS chasing the big black bream and searun trout.
You can hold pretty much anything still, mind you I realise barra and jacks are gonna pull pretty hard and fight dirty.
REELS - I use a 30 sized Quantum Smoke. They look super sleek in the flat black finish.
The 30 size is not that big, prob a 25 in most other reels. With that sized spool I find there's far less braid or fluro issues and you cast way further than a 10-20 sized reel, the line flies off easier being coiled not so tight (my theory anyway).
The Smoke has a double ceramic drag and is class leading in is poundage also.
Magnetic bail trip so no springs to fail and magnetic anit-reverse also. Less bits to fail. I love them, they are awesome value for money. Probably score for around the $150-160 if you have a good relationship with your local. Will beat any reel in its class IMHO (RRP $179)

Stella or vanquish. Something with awesome drag system, not kg numbers, low start up and smoooth. Then buy the best 4lb line you can buy and not pay too much attention to diameter, just abrasion resistance and breaking strain.

Reel won't need to be huge unless you'll be chasing meteries on the flats…

Stradic ci4 2500 is bullet proof but if budget isnt an worry i would definatly go a stella!!

Daiwa 2004 or 1003 size reels. You definately won't need a 2500 size if running 4lb. I fish 2004 size Steez and Luvias reels. High end daiwa is definately the way to go IMO. Best light spinning reels on the planet. Drags are super smooth. Anything from a freams to the almighty exist will do the job for you, if budget is no problem get an exist.

+++++ 1 on the Stradic Ci4 2500. I have one and I like it a lot!

It would be a little heavy on the 4lb - I am running 10 on mine and I find that the drag is pretty strong towards when you crank it down a little. I think that its rated a lot higher than they state.

I personally wouldn't go any smaller if you encounter Barra, jacks and salmon
