Daiwa Gekkabijin AGS AJING 73L-S

Hi all, I am thinking of getting this Daiwa Gekkabijin AGS AJING 73L-S. I m sold on AGS guide and the lightest rod it is... 80grams. Anyone have feel or own one of this? Anyone used AGS guide? Would love to hear some commends.

I bought one of these in March and absolutely love it - which is something, because I usually dislike fast tapered rods. Started using it in the Australian open skipping work hook rigged Aquas with 3 and 4 lb FC. Upped the ante in Tas, running 6lb FC through it and poling keggers out of the racks. The rod is quite forgiving under a full load.

My only complaint is that the butt is a little too long for my style and sometimes catches in my PFD or jacket.

Agree with Steve regarding the butt being to long nice rod though, think they are around 530 dollars

A mate of mine has one and he compared it too a Nordic Stage. He snapped both recently and he said he was more upset about the Nordic Stage then the AGS Gekkabjin. So it comes down to what you are comfortable using and how much you are willing to spend.

Sorry i havn,t used the AGS versions
but i own the mx ajing in both versions the 71 uls (80 grams) and the 74l-s (81 grams)and love both rods in there own right
the 71 for throwing light hards around the flats.and the 74 for when more power is needed the 74 butt is a little long as said above but then when needing the for power to lock it under the forearm it is great.

^ Agree 100%. They're amazing rods for the price you pay for them, I don't see why the same rod with an SVF blank and AGS guides would be anything short of a dream!

Can anyone who owns the MX Ajing and the Gekka AGS compare to 2? Any major difference, I would think they feel like the same in terms on taper.

Also, Sydney stockist of the AGS Ajing?

The biggest issue is which one to get, the 610 or 73. I couldn't decide so I got both

Good luck with your decision.
