Toughest day on the water i have had with 1 undersize bream caught all day.

Well done to those that managed to get something in the well .

See you in around a months time back in Mandurah for the next round(June 9th ) and good work to the Getaway outdoors team once again and of course Craig.

Bummer I only got one fish.
Was a tuff day on the water & well done to the winners.

Ians fish was a horse, it was all I could see on the beach as I came back to the launch.

My plan started perfectly but after getting one fish worth starting the well for that was all she wrote for me.
Not even a great deal of smaller fish either. The first 4 hours went by in a flash of light I couldnt believe the day was flying so fast.
I tried most things I could think of to find a second or more fish but it wasnt to be.
I heard of two fish 40cm or more that were landed so there were some about.

The Mad Eye 38 vibe was the lure that got me the few fish I did land. Its quickly becoming a favourite & is very easy to cast etc.

Big cheers for the getaway crew for their work, top effort once again with all the work that goes into the event.
The snack bags for a start are perfect for the days fishing & for someone like me they can be very handy.

Looking forward to the Blackwood already....bring it on....

Congrats to Ian ,Ben and Tim .
I missed seeing Ian's horse but I heard it was not quite as long as you would expect but extremely solid. Dead keen to see some pics as well.
Once again many thanks to Craig and the Getaway Outdoor crew for their hard work .
It was another very enjoyable comp even though it was frustrating as hell on the water.
see you all in June
Brendon

Great day out on the water as usual, fantastic to see such a good turn out again...Big thanks to event sponsors Getaway Outdoors for the food, beverages & supporting kayak fishing comps...Also thanks Craig for organising such a successful event, its good to see all you hard work repaid with a healthy turn out..
I was happy just creeping into the top 10 but would have liked to have got a full bag of 3 fish, like the majority of the other guys it was the Zmans in Bloodworm that done it for me...Plenty of rats like Garvey Park.Apart from a couple of 23cm fish it totally shut down for me about 10.30 which was a bit frustrating..
Livewell decided to pack up at about 1pm,opened it up to check on the fish,no water..After frantically filling it up using drink bottles(thanks Tim for helping)I called it a day...
Well done to Ian on the win,to do it with such a behemoth fish in the bag was impressive..Congratulations Tim on coming third, brilliant mate
And well done to everybody else who competed which makes these comps so enjoyable to take part in

Regards Andy

I wonder its this is the first time a proper organised official kayak event has been won with 2 fish ?

Its a shame that Ian got the smaller one he could have had bragging rights of winning the tournament with 1 fish
