Well i woke at 7am thismorning to be greated with overcast skies and light breeses PERFECT .... jumped out of bead and headed to a spot where ive been watchin some verry nice perch chasing minnows around for a while...
Got there and the water was a little low but stuff it .By the time i tied mi leader on it was 8 .
Then after about 5 casts i could not beleave the feel of this setup unbelevible .....never had a rod /reel like this be fore i was feelin every little "thing" on the bottom im stoked .. Then as im admirin how far i can cast this little bit of plakky WHACK frigin hell im on i shat my self this "thing" was friggin screemin the 6lb fireline was peelin off .... That rod handled it beuitifully then all stopped ...Silence Then lots of words comming screaming outa my mouth................

I gotta lern a better leader knot.... ah well my first attempt lernin from mi mistakes ...
So now im off to chase some Flatties...

Happy as a pig in mud

Congrats Chaser on the bream outfit.....nothing better than getting a new outfit that "feels" right....

Bad luck losing the first hook up on it...dare say there will be plenty more opportunities

As for the leader to line, try a bimini double on the fireline (around 20 to 30 twists), and join the leader using a no-name knot (8 - 12 twists).....I havnt experienced these failing yet.....

Good luck

just gets better

Well after my bust up yesterday mornin in the powlett i desided to go and check out a little pond i know of and chase some red fin. It was about 1230 when i got there.
The water is fearley deep but is choked with weed so you only have about 2ft of water(deep) to fish ..
5th cast whack im on nice little reddy bout 25-30 cm ...... 2 casts later im on agen a bit bigger this time ......
I moved to a bit of the dam in a corner that is totally surrounded by cubungie(?) . see a little hole in the middle of the weed think that its gotta hold a fish.. 1st cast, all hell brakes loose as the weed parts and whack im on agen but this fish has some horse about it . It was friggin huge the biggest reddie ive ever seen he went 55cm the rod handled him superbly .Ive got some pics on mi digie cam but mi comp wont accept mi new camera .As soon as it does theyl be on here..
So still hungry for more fishin i went and picked up a mate from his work and went for a flatty bash . Ended up getting 6 or so flatties each and i got an to a small school of sambos that loved the plakkys all walkin around on some sand flatts.. so you could say my new rod was broken in the first day i used it......Not bad for 1 days fishin
