18 hp tohatshu problems

gday all

i have a 2 stroke 18hp tohatshu outboard and it has been knocking and stalling at idle does anyone know what it could be ?

Could be a lot of things mate, check the basics fule, plugs ect but if it ain't a quick fix I would be getting it to a marine mechanic ASAP
I had a 30hp tohatsu on my first tinny and it was a great little motor, very reliable.

cheers mate it has been an awsome motor but all of a sudden it decided to spit the dummy ill get some new plugs today

Before u get new ones I would pull em out and check their condition. There is plenty of info on the net about how they should look, maybe a clean up will do the trick
