The SB can be tricky at first but soon becomes quick to tie and easy. Stick with it. I sit up some nights practicing knots using Youtube as a guide. It helps heaps and beats watching tele. Its nice to feel confident in your knots out there on the water.

The double uni knot is strong and easy to tie but it is also very thick and horrible through any guides.
Keep practising the slim beauty, you won't regret it.

Nil issues with 4lb braid / 8lb leader and a 4 turn surgeons knot through my 6'6" vapor. Just another knot to the equation. Regards. HBt.

I found with the double uni the braid seemed to cut the leader at times & lost some decent fish.
I found the SB to be a bit difficult especially on the water, but im sure practise would fix that & it seems a very popular knot.
Im currently trying the surgeons knot in 5 turns but will also experiment with the 4 turn & see if I can make that work as its very simple & it splits up the braid from the leader a bit so Im hoping wont cut as much.
If that one doesnt work I will have to work on the SB or just run FC only maybe.
