Question for the Interline users

I recently purchased a used TMX-I 762LFS (I now want a TMZ) And today when using it for the first time I noticed that line would not drop through the rod when the bail of the reel was open unless I flicked the lure. (I was using 2lb Fluoro and a 1/20 rigged plastic) I also noticed a small amount of tension with a rasping sound when I retrieved the lure. My question is, is this normal for an interline? I rigged the line through the rod correctly using the wire tool so I have no idea if the problems mentioned above are abnormal.

On a side note, what is the best way to wash down/clean the interline?

I found the same thing with my Interline, hence why I sold it.

In my opinion there is a lot more line friction than a conventional rod with guides.

For me, it scored an F for FAIL

Normal especially with 2lb. It sticks to the sides when fairly static but is ok when casting.

Just flush with fresh water and stand to dry with the widest open end facing down. Don't poke anything down the tube.

Hey Seamonkey and Nick_J,

Thanks for the feedback, it's appreciated. Seamonkey I will rinse the rod out like you suggest, and try using a PE braid with a 4lb leader next time. In saying that, today we fished in the middle of an electric storm and the static electricity in the air was pretty evident. Have you managed to offload the TMZ you had? I was keen to jump on that deal but I misread the classified rules and can't use them just yet

Afrojack,

It doesn't matter how you rinse it, or what braid or fluoro you run through it, the line will not drop through it like you have described.

G'day Rhys,
Sorry to hear u aren't completely happy with it, I never threw anything that light so never really found it a prob. It used to cast blades and double clutches an absolute mile!

No, no Joe. I'm very happy with the rod, was just asking the question to make sure it was not something I was doing. Regardless of the line flow, it casts light lures a mile very well. One very happy Interline owner here though

Hey mate if you have a look on the diawa website you will notice when your rigging the line to braid you need a 25 cm line .I use the sagar knot with the knot tying tool and its ok. I guess the knot needs to be outside the tip if that makes sense.I have the emma squid rod and ive never had that problem. The tip is large in it.Dont be discouraged the rod is excellent mate.
