Shimano T curve

Hi is any one using a Shimano T Curve T Series 662 2 to 5 kg? I'am looking at one for throwing plastics and hard bodies at light freshwater and estuary species.

any comments from someone using one would be great thanks

ive got the 661 which is the one piece version. only thrown hard bodies on it with no probs and it has handled some decent trevs and jacks. i just use it now for tossing topwaters on it and occasionally minnows and deep cranks. im a bit of a t-curve fan and also go a bream spin as well. not the first hard body rod i would reach for but would be my second choice.

Hey mate,
I've got a 702xl, which is a 7 foot 2-4 kg, and that works a treat. I throw softies and hards with it, and it serves me well. If you are landbased mate, I suggest you take a look at it, as the extra length will aid your casting.

I have one. I pair it with a 1000 Ci4 for bass and flathead and a 2500 for jacks and sharks. I landed my first bull shark from the yak last weekend using it. They're nice rods.

lol Sharks on a light rod, they must have some backbone to them.

They don't feel like they have any "backbone" when you play with them, they feel like noodles that can't handle anything. But I have, much to my own surprise, landed 1 small hammerhead and a few small bullies as bycatch on my 702 spin XL in open water, the parabolic curve is actually pretty good and you can pull very hard on them. T curve is the bream rod I use if I use some stinkin' baits

The 2-5kg's aren't really light rods. They're overkill for bream, but perfect for small sharks.

Ive got the T-Curve 2-5Kg in a 3pce (7ft travel rod); i use it with a Ci4-2500 to chase bigger flatties... might be a bit heavy for chasing bream

What made u still decide on the 2 - 5 kg rod ? I found my starlo a bit stiff and heavy hence opting for 2-4 kg for breaming. It is.perfect off piers for flatties, pinks etc. But since getting into bream.around structure the lighter stuff wins even from land.

Hi damob,
I also have the T-curve 2-5kg and do indeed find it to heavy for very light plastics, I am looking at 3-5lb outfit which should handle weights down to 0.5g.

nipper.
