Tips on maintaining my Yamaha

Hi all,
Just want some tips on how you maintain your engine after every time you have a outing. I'm still very new to boats and just bought my first boat a week ago! It's a ally craft 410 and has a 2001 4 stroke 30hp on it! I no I should water it down and flush the engine! Should I take the cowling off every time and spray the enigine with wd40 or lanox? I see there's some salt under the cowling on the engine what's the best way to clean it all off? Interested to hear your tips and tricks. Thanks all.

I wouldn't spray anything on the motor, it'll just make DohDohDohDoh stick to it

a spray of silicone on the cowling and wipe with microfiber cloth will stop salt sticking and keep it looking good though

Keep about 50cm of 60lb mono so whenever you drive in shallow water and get stuck on the sand you can feed it up the pipe the water comes out off. It's amazing how easy sand gets stuck up there.

A bit of water resistant grease (Valvoline is alright) on pretty much every moving part and a bit of inox will do nicely. A gear box oil change every couple of months is good too. The most important thing is washing it out with fresh water for 2-3 minutes.
