DVD quality video camera

I'm after a video camera to film some of my upcoming kayak fishing exploits which I'm hoping to release on DVD at some point. Anyone got any suggestions?

DVD resolution is 640x480 pixels, almost all cameras are now at least HD 720, 1080x720 pixels. I would suggest buying the best you can afford and investing in some external sound equipment because a great video is nothing if it doesnt sound right!

The reason I haven't gone straight for a gopro is because of the lack of viewfinder

Hey Chanlo,

The resolution you have there is for NTSC which is the format for America and Japan.

Australia uses the PAL format which is actually higher quality at 720x576 pixels.

Cheers,

Phil

If you are after something with a viewfinder maybe look at the Drift HD Ghost.

Personally I would still go a GoPro 3 and add an LCD screen.

Cheers, I use NTSC for my vids because of the slightly higher frame rate, "apparently" most new LCD screens accommodate both nowadays, but i've never tested it.

Yeah DVD players in Pal land will play both formats but those in NTSC areas won't play PAL DVD's...weird.
