Strudwick
I just heard that strudwick has let their whole pro/advisory team go. I'm not sure if this applies to their spin rods, but definately their fly rods. I imagine it would apply to both.
Anyone else know more about this? There was a post on the fly section of the sportsfish boards. I wonder if this will impact on the quality of their (excellent) rods? Cheers James.

maybe the whole team told Struddy where to whack it!
Look - between you me n th' gatepost - all this sponsorhip is pure DohDohDohDohDohDohism IMHO...been there done that and the risks to individual reputations thru getting associated with any company who MIGHT NOT live up to their own ideals is frought with danger for the sponsoree and the sponsor in my experience. I usually make a habit of late of stayin outta these crapshoots... Suffice to say, I wrote a confidential message to Harro probably a year or two back now suggesting that the delays in Struddys warranty repair replacement program was likely to do his public reputation no favours as their lead pro team member, if it got to be common public knowledge, and politiely suggested maybe he could do something to 'fix" the apparent problem. Maybe they fixed it - and maybe they didn't - I haven't a clue, it seems the public whineing about 3 month delays in turnaround on warranty seems to have died off so maybe Harro pulled some strings... The fact is - if the company stuffs up - then it affects the reputations of the team members they sponsor. People trust the guru's to give them the good oil and when those customers spend mega $ and get treated badly with warranty - that hurts the pro team members public image in the eyes of those who relied upon the reputation of the team member in making their purchase decision. IMHO - the team members all may gain while things are going good - and they all may suffer damage if it goes bad. It's all part of learning the lessons of the game the hard way for both parties - manufacturer and team member/sponsoree. The only one who suffers most of course is the customer - but - like I said, how do you know it wasn't the team members who let Struddy go and not the other way round???? I mean hell - take a look at some of the sponsorships deals of the past...Harro was team Sage, then Harro got Struddy, and the team Sage mantle passed to Morsey... It's like musical bloody chairs and about as degrading and huminiating as participating in a miss world beauty pagent contest if you ask me. Cheers *proudly sponsored by no prik, coz my opinions can't be bought for 20 pieces of silver!*

I started this site and didn't even know whether anyone would even look at it.
Now I'm in the position where some of the politics going on behind the scenes will have me launching a lawsuit next week. You do what you can, with no financial reward, yet there are always primadona's... Trouty, to answer a previous post of yours that no longer exists, yes there were some informative threads deleted over the last couple of days. It's on the advice of our solicitors, and an unfortunate result of some legal action that will take place next week. I wish there was some other way, but there will always be fringe dwellers that will try and get a free ride, and when they are kicked off, will try and create as much trouble as possible. Please bear with us while we eradicate the problem, we will provide as much in depth information in place of what's been deleted as we can. Cheers Warren.

They should act like men, and sort it out behind the bike shed! Heartland z's and soft plastics at 20 paces! Whats the world commin to - damn towel head terrorists don't have to destroy our damn society we are too busy doing it to ourselves! Never let the bass turds grind you down! Cheers! |

Hey Warren, Sorry to hear about the political problems you have been having.
The depth and quality of information that is freely exchanged on this site far exceeds any other Australian site that I have visited. It's a pity when politics has to ruin things for everyone. There is a real sense of community here, and not just a core group of people willing to share information only between themselves. Hope things work out ok for you. Cheers James
