It depends on what weight your casting and what line you're using

The 1000 sized reel will form smaller loops coming off the spool and the 2500 will form larger ones. This will determine the casting distance you achieve, or so I believe lol

Personally, I wouldn't give a f

Also depends on the size of you first guide, big loops mean nothing going through a small guide.

I see people post the 2500 casting further all the time, I reckon it's rubbish. I can cast miles with my 1000 stradic & 4lb fireline on my 2-4kg dropshot. I lose casting distance if I put my 3000 okuma also spooled with 4lb fireline on the exact same rod. I've tried other 2500 size reels with finer diameter line on the same rod & still can't match my cast distance with the 1000 stradic. I reckon it comes down to the balance of the outfit myself. If it's feels better to you with one size reel compared to another size reel, you should use the one that feels best & forget what anyone else thinks.

Yeah thats what ive found, some rods with small 1st guide go awesome with a 1000, especially with light braid possibly matching a 2500 at times...

I have also found that it depends on the action of the rod you use. I can cast as far with my 1000 on my Loomis SR as I can with a 2500 on my DSR because of the whip in the rod. Regards. HBt.

There are a ton of factors involved, but generally yes. The main things you need to be aware of are line lay on your spool, how full your spool is, and which line you are using. The larger diameter loops that come off our spool from a 2500 generally straighten out quicker, and it can sometimes actually help to slightly underfill your spool, so that your spool applies slightly ore tension on your line when you cast.
