Hardy rod

I'm 13 and need a cheap hard body rod. I'm also looking at a cheap plastics rod. I've got a 1-4 kg raider and not sure if I'm going to use it 4 hatfz or placcies. What is my cheapest option to go with a 1-4 kg rod and should it be a hard bodied rod or a plastics rods?
