Samaki K2 4-8lb
I'm not generally a fan of 2 pce rods but after being lent one of these by my local shop i'm happy to say this is the exception.I don't own any Samaki's but will give this one some consideration.
Its light, crisp and has some real grunt. Its rated at 4-8lb but i reckon its all of that and a touch more and is one of the few rods i've used that i actually prefer the 2pce over the 1pce , the 1pce is still a nice rod but lacks the same grunt and has a softer action which some may prefer.....but not me. Just a heads up for Samiki fans or those that need a 2pce. cheers nereus

i own a samaki vamp 4-8lb, had it for years and love it to bits. i also believe it feels ever so slightly heavier but that may be a result of the extra power in the bottom half. i have used it on mulloway to snapper and trout to bream and its always been spot on.

Hey,
The Vamp 2-4kg rod is fairly under rated IMO. I use it as a racks rod and a heavy duty rod for flathead. It's a great rod and one of my most frequently used rods in the locker. My wife knocked over her 70cm jew on the weekend with it and had no problems at all. I've got 2 of the new Samaki K2 rods to play with, and so far I'm very impressed by both of them. I have the 2 piece and the 1 piece rod and I do agree that the 2 piece is a little bit ballsier than the 1 piece, but both are very, very light and ultra responsive. The blank has a great finish too it, I personally think the pattern on the blank gives the rod a nice finish and is something better to look at then the normal jet black finish. The handle finishes the rod nicely, but personally I think that hypalon maybe a better option, as Cork tends to get dirty easily but thats just my thought. The k2's come with the fuji microguides and offer improved sensitivity and casting distances. At first when I saw them I was a bit worried about bulky leader knots bumping the guides but so far I havent had any great drama's and have run upto 6lb leaders and have been using a well tied double uni knot. I've run both 2lb flurcarbon and 4lb/6lb leaders on both these rods and so far they are proving to be excellent value for money rods and will be a favourite of mine in the rod locker!
