AFC program

I enjoyed the 5th AFC show yesterday managed to get a few hints from it, eg casting and jigging parrallel to the wharves and the concrete under the bridges.

Great series it would make a great video "Breamin 3"

that is a great way to pick up some HORSE bream in winter
narrows bridge and the causeway are super spots for this and Barrack st jetty also excellent using those methods.

Wright is a master fisherman for sure- !

good try a bit of lobbying to the TV network or the organisers of the competition.

some of the footage is great,

eg Ian Miller actually under the wharf, the guys casting into the pylons, the Hawksbury session getting fighting the bream on the light gear as tried to get into the racks, great stuff and good learining.

good to see the yarra finally produce what we all know it can....big fat bream. the last 2 abt comps down here have been really disappointing in terms of the actual fish caught.

Pete S, I thought exactly the same thing when I watched the show....I was expecting only a handful of fish to be caught.

The number and quality coming out of the Yarra was great to see. I'd actually given up on the Docklands but yesterdays show has given me new inspiration to have another crack. Might try around the bridges next time though..

AS SEEN ON TV...

the river itself is producing a lot more hookups than docklands(victoria harbour) itself.. chris wright got 5 fish in the first 45mins whereas tim morgan had none.

they were also limited as to how far up the river they could go, work it out for yourself guys

That's what I was driving at SWANK-E. The river and bridges in particular produced loads more fish that the docks. Ian miller got his bag

It seems that whilst the docks have a lot of fish they are constantly on the move from structure to structure. The bridge pylons and walls seem to either congregate and hold fish or, if the fish are moving, force them to move along the wall in a defined path making them much easier to target..

I really enjoyed that episode, it looks very similar to fishing Perth in winter, average size is good and no blowies to decimate plastics, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I can't wait

That bridge slick was fishing looked kinda familiar Pete - see what happens when they let you fish both sides of the river

yeah i know, but i would imagine a lot of people sees the charles grimes bridge on tv and how slick pulled all those fishies out of that bridge all day, that means that's THE bridge to fish at, if you know what i mean
