Samaki zing 4-8lb

Just wondering if these rods are any good and what it would be better matched with a ci4 1000 or 2500?
I'll mainly be using it for throwing sp's in the 1/8-1/4 range for flatties and possibly the odd sp jew session..

Cheers Brad.

I have a Samaki Zing with a Luvias 2500 and the balance is perfect, they are a great rod.

Cheers for the reply fellas.

Lust did you find it to be a nice light outfit matched with the 2500? Did having the 2500 on it make it bottom heavy at all? Any probs with the guides? I've been looking around at all my locals check one out but no where has it in stock.

The outfit was fairly light, not bottom heavy, was a perfect match with the 2500. The rod had alot of balls and easily pulled most fish out of the snags, I never experienced any problems with the guides.

I have just purchased a 4-8lb Zing, matched to a 2500 Luvias with 8lb Sunline PE.. It balances quite well in my opinion..

I'm curious to see what others have to say..

I'm actually thinking of possibly going with a luvias custom DA 2500r but I'm unsure on the size of the 2500DA compared to the stradics 2500 size

I recently bought my Luvias 2500 DA Custom for $269.00 in Australia..

They also have the Luvias 2500R DA Custom for the same price.. (Sorry, I got the last 2500..)

Look, the only Shimano spin reel I have is a 2500FD SIENNA.. (Sorry, cant help with the CI4).. The Sienna looks to be about the same size as the Luvias 2500, and holds 200 yards of 6lb, and weighs 265 grams.. Where the 2500 Luvias holds 210 yards of 6lb, and weighs 227 grams..

Cheers.

Mark.

normally people use 2500 size reel with 2-4kg rod
and 1000 size reel will go well with 1-2kg or 1-3kg rods

I have plan to match my 1000 rarenium with 1-3kg Lox 7ft

2500 ci4 stradic will balance nicely mate, but it all depends how you like your rods to balance, the stradic fj is another option, look the goods and has x-ship for those bigger fish

yeah go the 2500 if your gonna tackle some small jew aswell, +the 2500's are better for long distance casting

I have the intermediate tapered 1-3kg zing with a 2506 caldia and couldnt be happier, the reel is really light just like the ci4 and is perfectly balanced.
go play with a few down the tackle store to got the balance right, it makes the world of difference

(Im actually glad the store had sold out on ci4's the day i bought my caldia, as the gearing is lower 1:4 instead of 1:6, which suits bream fishing too)

Hi mate,

I've got my 2-4kg Zing matched with a 1000 Ci4 and spooled with 4lb exceed braid. It's one of my favourite combo's and I find it matches together perfectly.

Samaki is soon to be releasing a couple of new models including a new model zing, so that should be even better!

Cheers
Dion.

Heya mate, cheers for the heads up. Do you have a rough idea on when they will be releasing the new series?
