Rod Choice Assistance

Hello all,

Looking for a light breaming rod to go with a 2004 certate. Not sure where to turn with a budget of around 400 bucks.

Specs that I am looking for:
- fast tapered action (stiff)
- 1-3, 1-4, 2-4 kg sort of thing.

Any recommendations?

Thanks
Pat

I suggest you go have a play with the Tournament Specialist Bream range if you haven't already. Amazing value for money.

Are you after a 1 or 2 piece?? ... I spent weeks recently searching for the same and if you're after a 2pce it limits your choices by heaps!!

I "settled" on a loomis DSR8200s (2pc) for about $330ish...

ahh, forgot to mention that, thanks for the reminder.

I do prefer a 1 piece rod, but buying a 2 piece won't fuss me too much.

Nordic Stage or Harrier.

Personally I like to go through the specs where I can find 'em, go into my local specialist store (FishHead or TackleWarehouse in this case) and test as many of the rods as possible in hand.

After that it's upto you.

Personally I buy from the shop....

I was looking at the harriers. They look so damn epic! If only they had a lighter model, 2-6lb or just something a touch lighter, that would seal the deal for me. Might go down to a shop and see what it feels like compared to the tournament bream rods, or even the G loomis.

Harriers are very nice, but a fraction too heavy sometimes - the lighter one is only 6'4" as well. The Tournament Specialist Bream rods have my vote as well but sounds like you may wish for a faster taper. I've been having a lot of fun recently with my Tairyo Nano King and Nano Speed Plus II - much quicker action than the Nano Speed Plus. We got a couple of very nice rods that might suit from N.S. Black Hole as well if there is a stockist around you? The One's Micro is awesome and well priced and comes with a great case too. We also have the Medusa which is very fast actioned with KR guides and Micro top guides
