Need some new rods??

Hey fellas,

I've got Coota comp coming up in 11 days and i'm looking at getting a couple more new combo's before i go. Can't decide on what i want other than i don't want to go high end as i need some money left over to spend on lots of other goodies so this leaves me with maybe $1000 for 2 combo's and $1000 for other stuff.

I need a plastics rod and a hards rod. Must be something i can get of the shelf as i don't have time to muck around.

After suggestions, many will probably shoot me for this but i'm a Shimano man so will likely be looking at either having the rod matched with 1000 Stradic FJ or Ci4. Maybe consider Daiwa in exceptional circumstances

Ideas please?

Cheers

Steve

1000 FJ & 1000 Ci4
I have my FJ matched with a Pfluger Trion 1-3kg, It's a great little plastics rod, also go either a 1000 or 2500 Ci4 on a G-Loomis GL2 4-10lb

Will check them out mate, cheers Any other suggestions for Hards rods? Keep in mind i like my Hards rods to have a slower taper but still enough grunt to pull decent fish from cover ect.

I'm sure I saw a samurai 203 for sale on here for $250 in the last week or so, that could be worth chasing up for your hards rod??

Cheers

mate the tcurve tseries rods are very well priced these days, the 691 bream is a beautiful little rod for plastics and have fuji sics etc. great for money!
even cheaper theres a huge variety in the revolution tcurves. there is a schmick little revolution 1-3kg 662 that brett wilson is using in those new ritual youtube vids. it would be great for hards i reckon.
the gl2 dont live up to the loomis name it hurts me to say, i reckon they are nowhere near the tcurves.
then the daiwa black labels are awesome but worth more again

I've got a tcurve tseries 702xl, it is a 2-5kg, but it is very light and sensitive for a 2-5, feels more like a 2-4 to me. Great for hardz. May be getting rid of mine, let me know if you are interested BO, or buy one new, good rods.

203 for hards is a bad choice personally , unless the hards your throwing are really large. 201 are faster and stiffer than the 203.

People are off loading the older Samuri's at really good prices ATM ...

I love them. Bang for buck ...

201 with a 2004 ( diawa ) or 1000 ci4 shimano for hards

203 with the same for plasdicks.

The new Daiwa Tournament Bream series rods should have a model to cover both those.

I'm the same, much prefer my 201 for throwing hards.

Alot of people however seem to like the 203 because its not quite as fast, just threw it out there for him as an option

I to reakonthe Pfluger trions are good value for money..

Or if you were really looking for a good couple of rods get a couple of the new Daiwa Tournament series or a couple of Black labels...

Once you make the mve to Daiwa, you'll wonder why you hadnt done it sooner
