Minnows? Lure newbie.

Hey guys still new to the lure scene, have always thought it was bream on cranks and plastics... but have seen people catching bream with the longer thinner lures with bibs... I think suspending minnows? what are they actually called? What different action do they have to a crank that swings its backside side to side.

Really want to try it out...

When you say suspending minnows I think you are pretty correct, they can float and sink as well depending on the make, I think jerkbaits might be a name too. They work effectivly, I love the ecogear mx48 especially in the 307 in my local trout lake especially but also in the shallower areas of the esturays. Someone can probably elaborate more than me.....

Yes the lures like the ecogear mx48 and hurricane flatzas..

Do they work more effectively in the shallow flats? That's what I've been reading... so now that I know they are called that, what's there action like compared to crank baits?

Definatly work in shallow flats, seeing as they dive to about a foot, compared to crankbaits, they need a bit more action imparted, that said some of them already have awesome actions, thats where the saying jerkbait comes in, I like a near constant twitch when fishing for trout, and then for bream a few twitches and pauses.

I think the Hurricane lure range offers a great alternative to big brands, personally I am keen to get into some cranks and the majority of my fishing is thinner minnow style lures.
