If your motor on your boat is 6 horse or under you do not require a licence, just check with the transport dept and they will give you all the answers`

Pretty sure ur boat licence is linked to your car licence now. So it may have some consequences for when u get your car licence. And ull probly get a nice lil fine in the mail/possible court appearance

Not worth the risk.. Big fines. It's the same as driving a car unlicensed.

You could buy an electric and putt around with it until your old enough to get your licence..

The bonus is that you will still get use out of the electric after you get your licence..

Take the 18 horse off until you can use it to save weight and remove any doubt as to it being used unlicenced..

$500 is the fine in QLD. They will fine you, and won't give a warning. So you are better putting the $500 toward a 6hp, then at least you'll get most if not all of it back.

Make sure you got rego, life jackets / saftey gear and a capacity lable, as the will sting you $500 for each no compliance.
