Motor advice

Hi all. Just chasing some feedback info on the Evinrude E tec series? my mate's thinking of buying one for his 5.3 tinny. Who's happy? Who's ticked off. Thanks in advance.

Its a bit like asking whats better Ford or Holden...Holden. Intawebs full of threads debating this. Some quite heated. Theres some vocal fans of etec but they seem outnumbered, whether that means anything I dont know. Not sure Id go 300 hours without a service myself.

Does your mate have an Evinrude dealer nearby? If not Id buy what I can get help with locally.

Love my 30 etec. It's super quiet, very efficient and has balls!

Had a 90 on my old boat. When it came time to choose a motor my for current boat I went with exactly the same motor- 90 etec. Very reliable, very fuel efficient, very very low oil use, quiet at idle. Have not got one complaint after buying both of them. Will buy another for sure.
