3LB Stren Microfuse

Whats the big deal about it?! Im seeing it all over the joint in winning reports and a few noteable wins mainly Josh and Matt's BETS victory it got a big mention.

Is it really that good? I thought it was just like regular old Fireline.

its easy to see why they use it, its simply a great line, my line of choice in 3lb and 2lb. i used to use super pe and other pe lines but had too many line management issues and knot cutting issues. Since using stren, zero issues, great knot strength, durability, easy to see, value for money. out of the purefishing products its my choice of line by a long way. you're right its similar to fireline, but its more supple and smooth. it also doesnt go fluffy after a season. try it and see

I've got 3lb stren micro fuse on a caldia 2004 I use for bait fishing with unweighted pilly chunks for bream at a spot where it's all rock bottom and and old bridge is in the water. Was surprised at how abrasive resistant it is. Cast nice as well an no wind knots whatsoever

Why do people use 3lb instead of 4lb?

Is there some sort of advantage?

yes .. it's thinner so it casts better and is still stronger than quoted 3lb breaking strain

Roughly fused braids break 3 times the stated strength 3lb= 8-10lb
4lb = 10-12lb

Stren microfuse is one of the best braids I have used.

Casts well and I can never remeber once having a wind knot in the stuff.

Very user friendly line.

My last bulk spool frayed after about 12 months but its the bees knees. Never tangles.
Been trying Diawa Shinobi and while it's light and subtle and casts a mile I've had endless tangles with the stuff. Persevered with it for a few months but I'm going back to Microfuse.

+3 absolutely love the stuff in 3lb always end up coming back and using the microfuse because its just so hassle free dont think i have ever had a windknot with it and it also cast around the same distance as alot of the pe baids i have tried with similar diameter without having to worry about windknots

I used to use both 2lb and 3lb stren microfuse but now only use 3lb powerpro which I find a lot better It sits on the spool better casts better and dont seem to get as many loose loops The shape of the powerpro is more round than oval like the stren

I had an issue with the stuff in 6lb as it went really furry with typical / easy use. No guides were damaged and I dont drag my line around rocks etc.

Basically had enough of stripping line off and starting fresh every session so dumped it and went to Fireline - not the best line by any measure but much much much better than the Microfuse I had on the reel.

Not sure if they have improved on their manufacture but thats my opinion.

the problem with braid is its so hard to compare like for like.

I used to love suffix performance. bought some of the new 832 in 6lb and its sooooo thick.

having said that i put it on some scales and it broke at 16lb.

Then there are other 6lb braids like sunline that break closer to 6lb.

So your really comparing a 6lb braid to a 15lb braid.

Power pro is really nice and i love how consistant its knots are.
I stoped using it a while ago though as although it was strong it was too thick in 6lb.

might have to try some 3lb as it would be alot better for casting light plastics.

If only all briads actually broke at what they said they did. would be so much easier to pick one
