Daiwa Emeraldas Colossal (2508RH-W) vs Exist (Pre-2012)

For roughly the same amount ($600), which would you prefer and why?

Emma 2508:

Exist 3012:

The exist is a better reel. I have both and if you want the best get the exist. The Ema will be fairly heavy and not as versatile

Thanks. I'm going to use it as an everyday reel.

can get the exists for $600 now and If its an every day reel should get one in the 2506/2508 size compared to the 3012 there a little too big but depends on what your everyday targer species is if its bream its overkill just my opinion anyways

I have a Caldia 2500 with 4lb braid on it. Use it for plastics and the thing feels "too light"?!
I dunno maybe I'm just so used to holding 4000 size reels all the time. My beat-around reel is a Freams.

It really depends on what your going to use it for mate .. Like mentioned the Emeraldas is a much heavier reel , aluminum rotor, body etc.. (designed for long eging rods)
That said I have the colossal and it's a great sturdy reel similar to certate hyper .. if you are targeting mainly bream I would suggest the exist (2506)

Exist hyper custom comes with hyper digigear while standard exist has normal digigear. They both have air spool just in a different looks.

Now back to subject, you are better off with a lightweight exist.
