High Vis or Smoke/Crystal
Hi guys, looking to spool up my new caldia 2004 with some 2-4p braid and was just wondering what the general consensus was re Hi-Vis colours vs Low-vis (black, white etc), pros and cons etc...

Definetly white, much higher hookup rate

I have tried pretty much every color braid there is an can honestly say I have not noticed it deterring fishing at all, the bright colors are more for the anglers being able to watch for takes or hits

I use bright colours for placcies just to make it a lot easier to see those ticks in the line. I usually run a fairly long leader anyway so can't say i have really noticed any difference at all.

+1 for bright!
Normally just up the leader length if fish seem timid |

I agree, longer leader should eliminate any line spooks

I prefer white but I tend to fuss to much over little things and line color is probably one of them
![]() ![]() I have just spooled a reel with blue and am undecided yet, lived the line but was hard to see in low light. I have just purchased some brighter lines to compare against the white. |

For lure fishing I would stay away from the smoke (black) colour.
As for hi viz or white, I don't notice a lot of difference really.

Appreciate the feed back, thanks gents.
![]() Think I'll go high-vis (orange), see the bumps, doesn't get as dirty as the white, and looks awesome!

I reckon for anything but slowrolling hardbodies you need to be able to see your line clearly to watch for those small flicks when a fish picks at the lure on slack line.
Your line is fine for slowrolling but I do prefer flourocarbon for this

Im using that colour, and on overcast day it is very hard to see above the water.
