Gulp 2"Shrimp

Can anyone tell me if other colours of Gulp 2"shrimp come in the separated packs like the peppered prawn ones do?

It started off with the peppered prawn only, now all colours have it.

Cool, I usually buy in bulk and haven't needed any for quite some time.
Should be nice to open a pack and be able to use the lot

Hey guys,

There's many ways you can fish them, light jighead over the flats, heavy jigheads on drop-offs or even rigged weedless on worm hooks over the top of the racks.

They're all really as effective as each other, I personally love fishing them on Nitro Finesse Torpedo's and TT's HWS jigheads over the flats, as light as 1/40th and 1/50th on calm days. It's a very simple retrieve, cast out, let it sit for 3-5 seconds, a few small hops and repeat. I try and target the sand patches when I can see the plastic but the water isn't always clear enough. Another technique is to cast out, let it sit, give it one big rip of the bottom and let it sit for 10-20 seconds. This is pretty effective this time of the year, as the fish spot the rip, slowly move over to it and eventually curiousity gets the better of them in my opinion. Worked well in the BETS round at Lake mac.
My deep techniques are pretty much the same.

Another favourite technique of mine, rigging them weedless on an Owner or Gama G Lock worm hook in size 1, casting them over the racks and holding on. I usually cast on one side of the tray, bring it back and drop it off the shaded side. There's two different things you can do when bringing them back, either a slow roll, or twitch them and you can get them moving side to side like a surface walker.

Very efficient techniques.

the basic retreive will surfice on almost any situation but you cant do a bit of fine tuning with you lure action and weights.

I would say a 1/20th size 2 jighead as a starting point, 3 or 4 pound leader about 2-3mtrs long, chuck it out let it sink to the bottom leave it for a coupple of secconds and hop is twice, let it sink to the bottom and do it again.

With pontoons you will normally get most of your hits on the drop and you dont really need to work the lure at all sometimes. Same goes with most floating structure but it can help to let ig go right to the bottom and hop it every now and then if the fish are not taking it on the drop.

Keep moving around and try to fish structure when you can.

Make sure you rig the shrimp straight on the jighead so it sinks nice.

Use light wire hooks, they will help you catch a few of those bream that are a little picky.

I hope this helps

Have fun

cheers
Chris

If you get the moulded packs and rig it really straight on the hook it will be fine.

They don't always sink perfectly straight down.

You might find that when you test it to make shre it's swimming straight after rigging, when your watching the shrimp sink your just dropping it on slack line allowing the placcy to freely spin. When you cast out and let it sink alongside the structure on a tight line you won't have the spinning problem, the plastic just sinks perfectly. Also noteworthy, when timid fish are just pecking it use a bit more slack on the drop. The fish will feel less resistance and are more inclined to have a propper go at the shrimp. This technique is deadly with other placcies easpecally turtleback worms.
