What do you intend on using it for? I have 14lb Unitika Aorika II on mine which I use mostly for snapper, but it's capable of fishing a lot heavier line for much bigger fish.

I really want to use it for everything, snapper, Jews etc... I want to go heavy but not too heavy. I've tryed power pro but I reckon its rubbish so I don't mind spending alot of money on some very good braid. I've been looking at daiwa td sensor braid but im pretty shore there's alot better braid than that!! Thanks for your reply mate!!

Yeah no worries mate. I'm not a big fan of power pro either. The unitika is definitely up there with the best, and it's coloured differently every 10m which is I think is brilliant. You could comfortably go 20lb which would be good for allround inshore/estuary. If your not keen on the multicoloured line then I can also reccomend Daiwa Shinobi which is one of the strongest and also thinnest braids I've used, and is very underrated.

Also have a look at the Daiwa Tournament 8 line if you want thin but strong. I've been very impressed with it thus far.

Hey mate, I have 15 lb sunline super pe on my Stradic fj 4000 for snapper, it is also on a loomis nrx852s, this is the rod you should put your Stella on mate!
I'd have a 4000 Stella but I've already got a 1000 and 2500 fe on some glx bream rods- cant have it all sometimes!

a smart man would go 15lb sunline super PE... there is no better braid on the market for breaking strain > diameter.... super smooth, does not split at knots, i havent seen any feather yet.. @ $40 a spool.

castaway in comparison is absolute crap... breaking tests ive seen, all have broken under stated LB, the same LB as Sunline PE is also thicker diameter yet all Sunline PE braids break above nominated test... and very consistent across the board. ie: 15lb sunline super pe test A: 19.33 test B: 19.47lb.

everyone i know that used Daiwa T8 has never recommended it to anyone else... for the price a very very average braid... as a mate put it, like buying a ferrari with a 4 cylinder motor. so save your money there and dont buy into that hype because its got Daiwa on the sticker... apparently wind knots, weak spots and fraying are common problems. (after good use)

also Fireline Exceed has never let me down... but once you run your fingures along Sunline pe the exceed braid really feels like a sticky lollie.

Shame they dont make tournament accudepth in 20lb. Even still 30lb is PE2 diameter so you could run it on that reel no probs. Otherwise I just use sunline super pe- I run 20lb on my 4000 stradic and nitro magnum butt. And 80lb on my saragosa 18000 on a custom PE6-10 popping rod and PE8 jig rod.

Yep its sweet as. Use it for salmon down here (SW corner of WA) plus tailor, pinkies and such. Up north it gets bent on spanglies, cod, trevally, cobia, tuna, coral trout, sharks... pretty much anything. The only gripe is I bought the travel version which has the split grips. I was working FIFO at the time so that suited but now I would go for the full cork and standard 2 piece model. At least when I popped the tip section on a small whaler it just got sent off and replaced. Benefits of the nitro's is not only their pulling power but the insurance policy that comes with each rod.
