camera mount for gopro

hey guys
was wondering if anyone has used the railblaza cameraboom 600 for mounting a gopro? i like the idea of the railblaza as i can set up four mount spots (2 in front on each side and 2 behind on my yak) to get the best angle and to avoid direct sunlight. the pole for the boom is around 70cm long and is very flexible for getting different angles. however the mounting platform itself comes set up with a 1/4inch screw mount which a gopro does not have. they say on the site that adhesive tapes will not work on this surface either (not sure if they are just trying to cover themselves here). i was thinking if it does not stick perhaps i can make a small platform with a 1/4 inch screw hole, screw this on the plate and then stick the camera to this...so my question is, has anyone used this camera mount with a gopro, or is there any other camera poles that may be suitable???
cheers agz
