spool bearing upgrade

hi all,

just wondering if anyone here has gone and done a spool bearing upgrade to their reels (especially baitcasters) as i am in the process of replacing most of my stock bearings with the ceramic types for better distances on smaller lures.
if you have, what are the results like? do you still need to oil the bearings?

i upgraded my Revo S bearings with Boca Orange Seals. I did the sideplate, spool and tension knob. It free spools and casts a lot better, but now all the brakes need to be on otherwise i get backlashes.
These type of bearing don't have to be oiled and can be run dry. You can oil them if you like though.
There's lots of videos on these bearings, you should check them out on youtube.

so it seams the orange seal ABEC7 ceramic is an overkill as freespool will most likely result in backlash? maybe the abec5 is the go where ceramic bb are used but it does not spin too freely like that of the orange seal?
i was aftering something better than stock and also a bit better resistant to corrosion as everynow and then i take my baby calcutta 50xt out to chase snappers for some fun and hence is prone to get light sprays of the salty stuff...

I have Abec 5 Ceramic Hybrid bearings in all my Shimano Baitcaster's .. cant fault them for about $75 delivered for 10 from VXB Bearings ... a significant upgrade from stock ones.
