2011 Caldia

Hey guys, I just picked up a second hand 2011 Caldia and I have a question about the handle set up.
When the handle is on the right side of the reel it sits fine but when its on the left it does not sit flush with the reel body.
As u can see by the pic below there is a small gap between the handle and the body, is it supposed to be like that ??

Also the screw assembely that the handle screws into id different on both sides of the reel.
This is the right hand side which is fine

This is the left hand side that im having trouble with

is it possible to swap em over?? although I wouldnt have thought it would be such a drama to swat the handle from side to side.

Any help/ thoughts would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Mick

have you got the schematics ? if it's anything like a certate, there may be a rubber o ring that sits between handle and body .. i noticed the same gap when I swapped from RHS to LHS.

if it's not in the schematic, hopefully someone else can help you.

Just checked mine mate. Swaps over no probs and has the same gap either side like your picture.

That's how they are supposed to be.

The small gap isn't a problem. Just make sure you put the rubber seal on the same side as the handle.

yep as averyone has already said its meant to have the gap. I thought the same when i first bought mine but It certinly doesnt affect anything as my 2000 has alredy caught almost everything from bream to kingies and hasnt showed any sign of weakening. Its an awesome reel and youll grow to love it

Whats wrong with the zion body???
I have a fuego that I have hammered and the body is fine. Its light as and has stood up to some serious abuse.
I may be wrong but I think Shimanos Ci4 and Daiwas Zion are essentially the same thing.

Mate some people just like to jump on bandwagons and take a potshot at certain things.

I have a bunch of Zaion body reels in addition to the metal bodies of the old exist and branzino and while i prefer the feel of the metal bodies in my hand there are no performance concerns with either having actually put the two through their paces.

As I said some people just take the easy potshots without testing the actual performance of gear.

And yeah you are right the Ci4 concept and Zaion concepts are very similar.
