diy wind ons
hi guys,
thought i would knock up a little how to guide to making up wind onleaders for non-bluewater game species such as barra, jacks, queenies, etc. not sure how many people will find this useful, but i have learnt alot from this forum, so i figured its time to give something back ![]() i have been scouring the net for the downlow, but haven't found exactly what im looking for. so here it is, for those seeking the same intel ![]() step 1:- assemble all the gear - wind on jig (another home made job) - scissors - highlighter/marker pen - wind on needles - top shot dac tac - top shot needle lube (for tight fitting mono and needles) - top shot dac wax (apply upon completion to splice) - loop of braid - bobbin holder with thread (for finishing) - pen (or similar) - cortland green spot dacron - leader material - ruler (i have lenghts on my wind on jig) - super glue (ie loctite 401) - paper clip (not always needed)
