G.loomis NRX review?

So for a while I've been contemplating getting one but.. Is there a huge differnece between the NRX and GLX apart from the obvious handle difference and guides not being recoils I'd be keen for the dropshot model if that helps
Thanks

Pretty sure the DSR NRX has recoils too but the stripper and tip are TiSic guides.

Ahhh I thought they put a lighter set of guides to reduce it but 10grams or some minis vile amount haha anyway my main point is about the blank how it goes as far as strength and sensitivity my GLX DSR already goes great for its 4-8 rating

It's a different blank, I'm pretty sure the NRX has a faster action then the GLX.

Well iv'e never used the GLX so i cant really comment on it but iv'e got the NRX in the 822S dropshot and it is such a light rod and so sensitive you can feel a fish breathe on your lure. Just a pleasure to use and matched with a 2508 steez it is one light, awesome combo for pretty much any estuary & impoundment species.
Exclusive reels on ebay is a top seller to deal with. $439 delivered anywhere in aus, posted quickly and packaged well.
Cheers

Yeah mate I have one, they are a "hybrid guide system " according to loomis, the 3 bottom guides are tsic, then about 6 black mini recoils and a sic tip.
I use the 852s, I think the 822s has a softer tip section for drop shotting.
If you are buying for bream it's overkill. Go a 4-8 glx.

My 852 spends time with a few different reels and line setups as it is so versatile. I have spinned for yellas in fresh, trolled for trout in lakes, snapper, flatties with big plastics etc.
I'm a light tackle junkie and this rod feels ridiculously light but load it up and it has massive power.
I've had my ci4 3000, Stella 2500 and Stradic 4000 all on this rod and it suits em all.
If you look em up on YouTube the loomis boss talk about their features, obviously talking them up but they deliver on the hype!
Have you seen they come in green now? Too.

Awww matt the green one looks amazing.. Yeah the like to talk them selvs up abit but loomis works for me so I don't see the point in changing rod brands unless it's for jigging?! I had a dsr820s that ha to be sent back coz of a shaped tip so I thought I'd get creative and cut the back cork to make it look like an NRX haha looked okay I took some pictures of it. I'd be really keen to try the 852 then buy what you say as I want to really take this rod to the limit up north see what it can do

IMO the green one looks UGLY! Maybe its just me but i much prefer the look of the black blank & blue bindings on the other one. The 822S is pretty much same as matty jorg described the 852S. Ridiculously light but plenty of power when loaded up. I will probably be taking mine up north in the easter holidays so will let ya know how she performs.
