fc shooter straight through
Is sunline fc shooter designed to be run straight through or should I be running sniper?

I only know of 3LB Sniper being run straight through, thats what I am planning to do.

I've recently changed from Sunline Basic FC to Sniper and am quite happy with it.

I run sunline shooter invisible straight through. It's a bit stiff but very sensative.

I am also about to use this line having been recommended it. First time for straight through fluoro for me. I am ok with the stiffness. What lb do you use / recommend? Please excuse my 'fishing' on this thread. Regards. HBt.

Was thinking about converting to a straight through flouro setup for small crank and stickbaits but I think I'd prefer more sensitivity and casting distance as opposed to less pulled hooks and more stealth. Thoughts? |

I've recently just respooled my 2004 certate from braid to fluorocarbon. I now have 2 setups running fuoro straight through. I am using 3lb sunline sniper and am actually quite impressed with just how sensitive it is. Have been using it for both hardz and soft plastics and its been great. Havn't noticed much of a difference in casting distance from the 3lb crystal i was using before. With the extra stretch you dont get as solid hookups when using SPs but this just means you need to strike harder when setting the hook. Less pulled hooks when using HBs and not having to retie leaders all the time is a big plus also.

I was thinking 4-6lb for snaggy creek bream and the odd ep, need it heavier than 3lb so I can use it for glowbuggin trout in heavy flowing rivers

I use Sniper, which is great stuff. I have it in 3lb and 2lb, but if your just starting out using fluro I'd stick with 4lb.
Toray Bawo Finess fluro is excellent aswell, but it doesn't come in the larger spool sizes. At 100m I only use it for topshotting.

Do you guys find it's far superior than running a braid/leader setup?

I'm running 3lb FC Sniper, awesome stuff, I think it casts better than braid but that's just me. Used to run 2lb, it was good but I got sick of casting lures off, 3lb is much better ![]() Todd |

4lb or 6lb. I cant decide, I want stealth but also want confidense, how strong is this line compared to other brands. I use fc rock and it is like steel wire. If it is so invisable can I risk going to 6lb, there isnt much open water fishing in my locals its more snaggy and rocks in my trout streems. Will be run on a 2000 heartland spare spool. I run 8lb nanofil on the other spool and it casts a mile.
