Stella help

Hi all,

Just looking at what the difference is between the Stella 2500fd and the 2500fe please. I can't find any specs on the net so any help would be appreciated. Also r the fd's still worth the money?

Cheers Kyle

Most significant difference other than the aesthetics would be the x-ship feature found in the newer model...

Yea cheers for that, i think that the fd has a gear ratio of 5.3 and the fe has 6..

Also assumed that x-ship wouldnt be in there.

Any other differences and are they worth it still now or just go the fe?

Hi mate,
I have the Fe, love it.
I think its worth it only if you wanna keep up with the times per say
X ship is great, do I think it warrants the price diff between the two models? No
Both models r great reels though.
Find an fd second hand and I think you'll be sweet , or buy a Fe, what evs, either way is gold
cheers

Pretty sure the fd has an I knob handle like a 1000 and the fe a t, the fd may be better for really slower finesse work,
I have the fe 1000 and 2500 awesome reels get better with age!!

The 2500 Stella FE and FD models both have the T knobs, well the Australian models anyway. The FB was the last model 2500 to have an I knob. Either way if you prefer an I knob on the FE or FD just contact Shimano spares in Taren Point, Sydney and they can either change it for you, or post you the parts.
